Anybody got an opinion about this?

I saw this for the first time in the latest edition of EAAs Sport Aviation. The site claims a kit will be available "in the third or fourth quarter of 2009." More info at:SkyBike Flying Motorcycle Samson Motorworks transformable Telescoping Wing Roadable Airplane

    20B three rotor first start

This HUGE link is for a 20B Cosmo motor. IMHO, the start $ is WAY to high...

    Composite Air Car?

Hi all, My search for the perfect plane has brought me to the Spencer Air Car. A plans-built amphibian listed in Kit Planes as "CTWF" for Composite, Tube, Wood, & Fabric. It appears to me to be a really good plane for my variable mission. The question for this august group: can the wood...

    Flap Torque Force (whew)

Orion wrote: To get you close, you can calculate the hinge moment for the split flap using the same calculation as for a plain flap or control surface. Orion, AHA! There, you have it. Please forgive my ignorance but I need to know "the same calculation" for the plain flap or control...

    Flap Torque Force (whew)

Hi all, I searched the forum w/o luck so I'll ask. I'm interested to know how much force will be needed to lower a split flap. I presume the calculation involves flap area, velocity, and angle but that's only a guess. Thanks all, Tim

    100LL & 97 Auto

Jim, I don't always get things right the first time. The question was supposed to ask about 87 NOT 97 octane fuel. But your answer and advice is appreciated none-the-less. Thanks, Tim

    100LL & 97 Auto

The airports in my area (92025) don't advertise that they have 97 Auto fuel. Aside from $/Ga, is there any problem or advantage running 100LL in a converted automotive engine? Tim

Is anyone else designing a scale PBY? (long)

Gary, Sorry. I misread the originator of the thread - didn't go back far enough. Tom, Re: my previous two posts. Tim

Is anyone else designing a scale PBY? (long)

Gary, Here's another set of Mallard interior pics. http://www.mallardaviation.com/pgint.htm Well, yah a scale Mallard is my dream. Tim

Is anyone else designing a scale PBY? (long)

Gary, I haven't seen the inside of a PBY. If the Gweduc is too big, just how small is big enough for a "motorhome"-like interior? Have you considered a Mallard? www.cs-ent.ca/6710.htm or an Albatross (it's bigger yet) as a starting point for your scale reduction? Tim Tim

    New Aircraft or Restoration

Hi, New kid here. Some may recall that I joined this group writing that I was a helper to a friend fix a damaged KR II. Now following this thread I'm confused how he will have to deal with a repaired aircraft that has already been registered & flown. I know almost nothing & he knows less...

    OK this is fun!

Jman - So glad the gallery will be up soon. I've surfed many groups and my need for visual references just never seems to be satisfied. Might be a problem when I get to IFR huh. Firstscout - visited your site - thanks a lot. So you don't misunderstand, I'm not the builder, just the helper...

    OK this is fun!

Hi everybody, I've been following homebuilt & kits since the days of the VariViggen. I've always wanted to fly & build my own plane( I think that's probably the safest order to follow). I'm getting closer every day. For my first venture, I'll be helping a friend turn one unfinished and...
