SPG redrives from Air Trikes Enterprises Canada ?

These are Suzuki G10 and G13 tractors on biplanes.

SPG redrives from Air Trikes Enterprises Canada ?

For example BMW R or Subaru EA EJ with SPG gearboxes are used a lot for tractors. Honda, Suzuki, Corvair... I agree with cluttonfred For example this is a picture of Corvair installed with 1.8 ratio SPG engine.

    Air Cam / CH-750 love child ....

There are planes like this, with metal wings and tail, auto conversions, well built and flying.

    Ace Aviation Redrive: New model

Nice engine! What about alternator? Oil tank?

4500rpm propeller to negate the PSRU

If you compare with not efficient brand (IVO, Warp, GSC, Ultra etc), yes, 6-blade E-prop can be a winner easy. But I'm pretty sure I can propose more efficient 3-blade prop the same diameter.

4500rpm propeller to negate the PSRU

Yeah, funny calculator! I put 30 blades, it says it is more efficient than 3-blade propeller. They say: This program does only apply to the carbon E-PROPS propellers, with their specific profiles and their fine chords. Those values cannot be reached with other propellers. It is not true of...

    AutoPRSUs engine discussion

Almost nothing to add. SPG systems are in production from 2003, about 1500 units have been made, we tried this and that, we were making mistakes and improved these systems, we know this is not easy thing to make a good reliable gearbox for an aviation conversion. I'm glad most of you understand...

    AutoPRSUs engine discussion

Do you see any sense doing it? Do you think amateur builders can make high precision gears or a gearbox body? If you want to make one gearbox, it will be much more expensive than our retail + not so well tested and proven. It is another story if you want to sell them, but it is easier to send...

    BMW R1150

This aircraft was assembled with BMW R1200GS instead of Rotax 912ULS about 5 years ago.

    BMW R1150

Yes, you are right, the centrifugal clutch is used to minimize low RPM vibrations. Here is the picture of SPG-4 gearbox for BMW R1200 with the clutch. This clutch is used together with a rubber donut. Centrifugal clutch + rubber damper = smooth running engine, you can see it at a video from my...

    BMW R1150

I often repower aircraft from Rotax to conversion engines. Mostly Suzuki G13BB but it doesn't matter. When you have the aircraft with Rotax, and then the same one with BMW (Suzuki, Honda, Subaru etc.) then you can estimate the difference. We have to compare MPFI engines (BMW R1150-1200 or Suzuki...

This is RW-4 built in New York with SPG-4 gearbox, KOOLprop and SDS control system. I expect more planes with EG Subaru and EJ Turbo flying with designed for up to 400 HP engines SPG-5

    AutoPRSUs engine discussion

My understanding -the most popular E-AB planes built from kits in North America are RV, Zenith STOL, CUBs and their variants. As I know, Subaru EJ and EG are quite popular engines for them. The power is 135-280 HP, They are flat and easy to go under the standard cowling. Well tested, there are...

    BMW R1150

I can't say I'm a serious BMW conversion specialist. I have built only 4 BMW R engines by myself (comparatively with 70+ Suzuki), and 30+ have been built by my customers using SPG conversion kits. The picture below is my first with SPG-2 R1150 scaled. The weight was 72 kg (159 LB) no muffler and...

Options for Suzuki G13--Complete FWF and less robust assitance

No, C box is C box, SPG systems have different gears, bearings, shafts, and bolt pattern.

Options for Suzuki G13--Complete FWF and less robust assitance

I don't say everything "made in China" is bad. I only explain my opinion, my feeling. I'm absolutely sure G13BB made in China are excellent for millions of Chinese taxi cars. But when I ask myself "Vassili, which engine do you prefer to fly (trust my life somehow), Japanese or Chinese one?"...

Options for Suzuki G13--Complete FWF and less robust assitance

I think the engines used in Pakistan are Indian made Suzuki-Maruti. There are many SPG based G13BB conversions flying and running on airboats in India. Yes, C box will work for this engine, the only question how long it will work. We started from Rotax gearboxes about 20 years ago for G10 and...

As an answer for your "thinking of a reduction drive for a honda L13/15 engine." They exist, vertical or laid flat, for example like below. BMW rubber donut used to eliminate torsional resonance. More info http://www.airtrikes.net/engines.shtml

Stinger drives just priced me out of a conversion...

You are right, Ivo or Warp are more for slow speed. Different prop blade models have different twist. If you need a propeller, I can help to optimize it, to find the best variant from existed blades. It is possible to calculate efficiency using a computer program for prop blade design and...

Options for Suzuki G13--Complete FWF and less robust assitance

Thank you again. I'm here because many of my customers advised me to be here. I like building and flying, I know something in this area, I share my experience but I'm not "internet guru". I flew my first hangglider built by myself when I was 19 y.o. I'm 56 now, MD in Aerospace, but still like to...
