I maintain that 8,000' doesn't offer much spare pavement for a ground effect hop. I'd certainly want a decent headwind.

    Gorgeous wing.

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

The way this played out, I'm guessing this is why Peter was so obsessed with proving Raptor could get airborne and stopped on a single run. The Wasabi duo arrived, verified the balanced field length and made the correct determination. I was baffled at first, but now convinced Wasabi gave Peter...

How long? A couple seconds would put him off the pavement.

If so, then Justin is one helluva pilot. If that thing lifts off long enough to ascertain any flight characteristics, it would be flying in ground effect 20 kts or so above stall speed. Getting it down and stopped in 5 thousand feet would be quite a feat. Peter was leaning on the brakes pretty...

I'm inclined to think he's staying engaged with Wasabi... hence accommodating their wishes for a longer runway with emergency options. He mentioned an airport with 8.000'. I'm no longer familiar with airports in that area. 8k would, in my opinion, still be tight for flying in ground effect...

Latest video is up. Apparently Peter took the advice well to relocate.

The probability of this is high, IMO. Pray he survives.

Still, this is Wasabi's business and I'm struggling to believe they couldn't do the math about acceleration/runway length/surrounding terrain. I kinda feel for Peter here. MANY cautioned Peter about runway length long ago, Wasabi couldn't do do a TLAR like the rest of us? I'm sure I'm missing...

It is attractive, but hose wingtips look gaudy to me. Way out of proportion.

Aeroplane you have to dress into !

    Can anyone top this?

Seems he's replacing a lot of stuff for an airframe with 1/10 of a second of flight time.

Yamaha Aircraft Engines: A History & Buyer's Guide

I can see something like Bill's Saberwing with retracts, the Edge modified Apex turning a speed prop and setting some nice speed records!

    But, 575 has a speed limit! 🚓

"Planned" being the operative word. I agree, once the landing characteristics are well defined. Deadsticking from altitude, I would think 5,000' may require some really precise "planning!" But I'm far from an experienced voice.

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

Yeah, the recent high speed activities made that Georgia runway small. I know Justin is careful and skilled, but with that mess of an engine I hope he does that 10,000' flying over a much longer runway. I know I'm a chicken pilot, but I don't think my first Raptor landing would be on anything...

Of course I looked at "Facebook Photo Verification." New and existing users aren't required. It was created in cases of "suspicious activity" or folks uploading nude photos. Have you done either? Sell to China? Seriously? Sorry, Mods. Back on topic.

This is the first... and only... place I've seen this reported. More conspiracies. Exactly. This is a "Homebuilt Aircraft" forum, not "tried, tested and certified." What better place?
