One off? Your gearbox manufacture makes them or?

    Gearbox Chip Detector

Does the manufacturer recommend a chip detector? If so can they not supply one? We have frag detectors on the T58's and T55's but they don't show as much as a good magnet in the reservoir.

??? I would not say they know what they are doing as much as they are trying to figure it out as they go. Technically they lack vision as they do not know what approach will work and it’s slowed progress. They had no landing gear idea put in place until recently, aka well past plane being built...

So.. Are we holding the "technology prover" to the standards of the claims or are we accepting this first article for what it is. A learning example.

So is everyone in agreement that if you can throw enough HP at it, it will get off the ground and fly?

‘it’s still a bit early to be thinking that way. so far, the engine has not been a problem for anyone other than the critics. And in an industry that is strangled by the same o same o, it desperately needs an alternative.

There's a valuable lesson to be learned here for all of the naive people who think the "Carbon Fiber" is a magical material. All of his short comings with the controls are due to the fact that he thought that KF was special. Everyone keeps saying it's so strong, it's so stiff. Well folks it's...

Do you think we are using the right wing length for most aircraft?

Empty weight can be very small, if we look at the pipistrel aircraft, they have wing extensions that can add some beam to the plane quite quickly and easily to address the hanger issues. https://www.pipistrel-usa.com/sinus/ The downside is the beam decreases the speeds due to the induced drag.

True and we spoke about this but these guys want a plane that is a one of not a one off.

I asked this question but in a different manner, why do builders not use a mold. shapes, designs and hard/soft edges are not an issue nor is a core in the composite building. It just seems that no one is Gung-ho about using a mold for composite aircraft. It would be very easy to build a plug...

So who's placing odds on the wires working again vs Peter abandoning the wires for either a "push/pull"cable or even a pull rod system?
  15. Rik-

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

Why can't he do a push rod system? He cut a hole in the thing (thick in that area) so it looks like he could thread some rods in there to do a push rod system and be done with it.

‘If we notice one thing that he said about the flex in the current system, which is 10% or 1”. A teleflex, Morse or what ever brand we want to use will have slop of about 1/4” minimum to 7/16” as we have to push the we noodle inside the jacket housing. how much slop is to much? How much slop...

Your listing fear not reality. Leaks, the engines leak, the tires leak and even the windows leak. I don’t know what type of hydraulics you deal with but I manufacture my own hydraulic cylinders and I don’t have leaks especially if someone doesn’t step upon a hose. There’s an oil pressure hose on...

Not entirely. There is a manual steering helm "capilano" that is human power'd power steering but still full hydraulic steering and it's got feed back when you stop being the power in the power steering. Your way overthinking a simple solution. If you can move it without being a super human...
