im studying shear web design and im a little confused. i know jourawski's formula is used to calculate the beam shear in the web but where do we get the shear force? the shear function from beam theory? so beam shear is more directly derived from the lift distribution? and its not related to bending moment at all?

sorry for the amateur question. im just trying to get a grip on modifying an existing design.
