Greetings,

I have an old 912UL 80 HP that I'm thinking of upgrading in the not too distant future. It's safe to say that Rotax wouldn't approve of any mods.

I've seen an option to just replace the pistons with higher compression, but for as long as it's been around, I haven't seen any good reviews, particularly with a before and after comparison.

There are a couple big bore kits, from Edge and Zipper. The most interesting one to me is the Zipper 1484 "high torque" version. It allows 87 octane, and has 105 HP. It's also pretty darn expensive.

Has anyone had first hand experience with either of these, or any other upgrade for the 80 HP 912?

Thanks,
Rusty
