hi, i bought the plans for the affordaplane.i havent started it yet ,the plans call for 2 inch square tube but i wanted to use a half vw on it and that would put it just a bit overweight. i thought about changing the whole structure from 2 inch square tube down to 1.5 inch , i am sure it would still be strong enough. i also toyed with the idea of doing the whole structure in 1 inch by .062 steel square tubing, the latter would eliminate most of the gussets and all of the bolts as i would weld it together if i use steel. if anyone out there is familiar with the affordaplane, i would appreciate your thoughts and input.
