What experiences have builders had with inspection of their AC regarding use of SAE bolts instead of AN? I am NOT talking about grade 2 "hardware store" bolts but rather grade 5 or 8 SAE bolts.

SAE bolts are accesssible so quickly as opposed to having to order the AN and of course the AN stuff is often expensive. I read at
Bolts: Series, Tyoes that the AN3-20 bolts have a tensile strength of 125,000 psi tensile strength and read elsewhere that an SAE grade 5 is 120,000 PSI while a grade 8 is 150,000. I know there are some differences between thread configuration/shape but for many lower stress application where there is much redundancy, sure seem that SAE would fill the bill.

Thoughts appreciated.
