Hey RV Builders,

I am getting ready to construct my jig. I see that the same jig is to be used for both the Empennage Kit and the Wings.

On page 6-13 the plans show an image of the H-jig. The notation says:

Inside Dimensions (of the uprights)
105"-109" RV-6/6A
58"-60" RV-9

This is strange, as I am building a -7. I understand that the -7 Emp is the same as the -9, but 58"-60" seems just WAAAAAAY too small.

With a little quick math, I can see that the completed piece will measure almost 100".

Also... from looking at the wing plans, it seems that if I need to build a jig approximately 114" wide tp accomodate the wings. Obviously I want to construct only one jig and use it for the entire duration of the project.

Sooo, my question is: How big is YOUR jig? Any tips in making mine? Can you impart any wisdom on this process for me?

 CJ
