The application I have in mind is not aviation related, but my question is applicable.

How would PTFE (Teflon) and aluminum (6061-T6) work together as a bearing surface? It has the lowest coefficient of friction of any plastic, IIRC, but it is hard to find information on how well it works with other materials.

I don't mean load bearing, but sliding or rotating. In aviation this would be like a support for a long pushrod. Or for the bearings in a control stick mechanism. There are also some designs that use plastic bearings in the nose gear mechanism.

I have seen other plastics used in these applications, but they are not inherently UV resistant. In my application UV resistance is a requirement.
