Greetings all. I have just been watching a program on 'Discovery' TV about the development of the 'dimpled' finish which is applied to golf balls that enable them to fly further, faster, straighter etc than those without them, ie compared to those with just a perfectly round, smooth finish.

Has any work been done on any possible application of this aerodynamic 'technology' to the aviation scene ?

Just curious.
