Is there a difference in strength or durability or anything else important between wing ribs which have solid fluted flanges versus wing ribs which have notches to form the flanges? I noticed on the Hummel builder's group some have used a fluted firewall instead of the notched version in the plans. I dodn't know if either method was stronger or not. The Hummelbird has fluted wing ribs in the plans, but I'm using a different (but already proven) airfoil, and am modeling the wing ribs to have laser cut. I'm still have plenty of time before I start on the wing, this is more for curiosity sake.
