Today the FAA, as part of its 23 year budget plan, announced that it could save approximately $31,415,926.35 per year by outsourcing all ATC functions to Bangladesh.
With the use of the internet it is no longer necessary to maintain the antiquated system of ATC centers dispersed across the country, the report said. Furthermore, there would be less financial burden on the airlines and private pilots, since the proposed system would require that every plane be equipped with a GPS enabled smart phone and have a Facebook account that would continuously announce their position.
