I am talking about gas welding aluminium. I know there is a lot of info out on the net (like tinmantech) , but I was wondering if anyone here has practical experience with this? As applied to fuel tanks and cowlings mostly. I am a pretty competent gas welder in steel (was certified once for aircraft stuff), but this stuff defies my efforts. I use a Dillon (Henrob) torch mainly and it is supposed to be especially suitable for this; the company's demonstrator routinely welds aluminium cans together with this. So far all I can manage is ugly blobs that refuse to puddle and fuse.
