Having to make several hundred components in my helicopter build and I would like to create a part number system for it, looking for suggestion/ideas that would bring some logic to those numbers rather then just random numbers and letters. Having modeled and machined a number of these components already it is already getting difficult to locate them logically.
It will be a software catalog that will link to pertinent pictures, files, invoices, notes etc.

Any ideas/suggestions/help?

Thanks
Ken
