Oracal, not to be confused with Oratex. I've been following the development of the Belite over the past couple of years and I really like the idea of using Oracal, cast vinyl, over Dacron instead of paint. I didn't see a previous discussion with Oracal on the forum so I figured I'd see what everyone else's opinion is regarding this option. It seems like a great alternative to paint and yields good results with practice. I looked at their plane at Airventure last year and it is impressive. Their newest plane that they are finishing now is awesome looking! I believe that the cost is in the $5 per yard range for their 751 (7 year) and 951 (10 year) and both are rated at outdoor exposure. It sounds like Belite is using 751 being that the articles have stated a 7 year life.

I'm considering this option for a UL covering, not a faster plane.
