When drawing up plans for aircraft i have read that designers use decimal measurements on blueprints instead of fractions. While this seems like a logical course it seems to me that some errors and confusion can be caused by this. People usually think in fractions. While building from plans you would have to look at the plans in decimal then convert it to fractions on your tape measure then mark and cut. Would it be better to list measurements in fractions to avoid this potential problem? I am currently working on redrawing some plans to CAD form and wonder which would be better.
