Hi All,

I've been looking around at purchasing a glider to fly since I don't think I'll finish my homebuilt any time soon.''

Since I'll most likely be buying a certified ship (I've got my eyes on a particular Ka-6) what kind of work can I legally do on it? Can I paint it, recover the tail feathers or swap out a vario? Or do I need a FAA mechanic to do all that?

If I end up getting a certified craft I want to keep it that way however my homebuilder interests make me hope I can do a little work on it if it needs it.
