Here's an interesting idea, but before the idea, like all good ideas, there was a question.
At which point does it become impractical (or impossible) to effectively control an aircraft by direct manual link controls (be they cable, pushrod, torque tube, whatever) and change over to hydraulic?
Is this a consideration for Vne?:think:

And then came the idea, which in itself is another question :confused:

Would there be any significant advantage to putting power assistance rams in series with the controls? Would the weight of at least 4 control surface rams and the extra fluid etc be more than just putting 3 assistance rams on the (already existing) rods coming from the stick and the case of cables on the pedals, on ram in series on one of the cables?:think:
I'm not sure if there is any merit in these ramblings, but I figure it might be worth tossing about and seeing where it goes.
