It has been a long time since I flew a 2 stroke powered air vehicle and vowed that I wouldn't repeat that experience due to the poor reliability. I then saw the SD-1 at Oshkosh and got really excited about it. They promote the Hirth F-23. Can this engine change my mind about the reliablity of 2 stroke power? Is there anyone building an "off the shelf" light engine that can or is this just more pie in the sky?
