So I was showing my wife the ultralight I wanted, the Fisher Avenger, which she whole heartedly objected to. I tried, to no availe, to convince her it would be for the most part safe with plenty of lessons, a BRS parachute and careful weather choice. Then something I did not expect, she said, "I would feel a lot better about it if I could ride in it too." She continued and we agreed I could get a Sport Pilot License and an LSA as long as it had a parachute and room enough for the both of us. Awsome right. So now instead of the Avenger I am now looking at LSAs. I am thinking I want a tandem, made of wood with enough payload for amphibs, short joyrides with my wife and range enough to get me to the cabin in Maine (170 static mile senic route). I was looking at the Fisher Horizon 1 and the Quad City Challenger 2 Longwing. If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them.
