I've always liked the simplicity of the idea: "if you need a lower landing speed add area to the wing" and with these calculations it seems to be the best solution. I calculated an estimated CLmax for each configuration and determined wing area for a 45mph stall at Re=2M. The drag calcs where done at Re=6M. All data is based on X-foil predictions.

Although some of the high lift airfoils performed okay, the bigger wing airfoils performed better which at these low Reynolds numbers coincide with most of what I have read but contradict some of my prior conclusions.
