I think I've finally decided (I know broken record) that I'm going to buy the plans and scratch build the Hummel H5. Ease of build (first timer)and cost separation(spread out) being the main factors. The idea is that I'll have the plans, and can review them, then start to build after my shop is setup, I gather some more tools(I have most that I need now), and have some money set aside. Now what worries me is this; I know there will be certain items I'll have to buy from the company, example being the canopy. If for some reason a company went belly up, then what? Has anyone bought a set of plans only to realize when the time came to build, that you couldn't obtain certain parts? How did you rectify that?
