Can anyone tell me if I can sew a Dacron sail? I have been trying to find some info on making a new sail for an American Aerolights Eagle. It is okay if it isn't realistic, but if it can be done at home I want to consider it. I have searched, but maybe I don't know what or where to search. I don't think it would be worth what I think buying a new sail would cost. Plus, it sounds like an awesome project to me. I have been wondering about the fabric weight, thread, and what kind of machine it would take.

Also, I would appreciate any opinions on whether or not fixing these old things are a good idea. I have two.

I don't have any aircraft experience, but I am not scared of working on stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wes
