hi guys, new here. so i thought it was time to start asking questions. i have been going over lots of posts on different topics. even done searches but can never find what i am looking for! lol.
so what i am curious to know is this... i am wondering what different types of aircraft coverings there are? i am designing an UL so weight is a huge issue. BUT i am not a really big fan of dacron. i love the idea of a rigid skin. i have looked into CF, PVC, aluminum flashing, and more. but each time i do i seem to run into a wall on cost! now it seems that dacron is very affordable! but i don't want to do just the same old thing as everyone else!
so are there other types of materials to cover an UL? and are they cost effective?
any help you guys can provide would be a great help!
