You can't beat Burt Rutans solution for asymmetrical thrust, I think the Boomerang is gorgeous..

The 'daydreamers' thread...post your craziest designs and concepts here

I like efficiency. I would like to make it a hybrid (Battery/Gen). I'm not looking for hot shot flying. I think a 70% scale in a mix of Composite/Aluminum would be the easiest to construct. I have just always thought the Viking was sexy. I would make some needed changes for slower landing...

The 'daydreamers' thread...post your craziest designs and concepts here

For over thirty years I have wanted to build a scale version of the S3A Viking using Ducted Fans. Now that battery and motor technology is improving exponentially, It might be possible to see this dream come to fruition.

    Most Beautiful Aircraft Ever Built

I can't believe there are not more here on this site that have not said the Staggerwing. I would kill to own one. I had the pleasure to fly in one and I will never forget the tone of the P&W and the smoothness of how she handled. What a dream machine ......

Firewallon Ridge Runner 3 or other clones

By chance do you have a digital copy if the manual? The one we have is a photo copy of a photo copy. So much is missing and it came with the kit. Any help would be more than appreciated! Tom

The Plexiglass route is what we came up with also. Just not looking forward to the assemble and disassemble process three or four times.

Firewallon Ridge Runner 3 or other clones

Where do I begin? As stated previously, the manual says absolutely nothing about it (as with many other items). My concern has to do with matching the cowling. As I stated there was one photo (actually two after reviewing the manual again) that shows the firewall. In those photos it shows the...

Firewallon Ridge Runner 3 or other clones

I have been reading over other posts regarding firewalls and still have not found the answer to my situation. We are building the Ridge Runner 3 (worse documented kit I have ever seen). The manual is worthless and we are getting ready to install the firewall. However, the manual says "nothing"...

I could sure use your help with the RR3 we are building. This kit is a piece of (unspeakable). We have had ZERO success getting support. What we are faced with now is who and where to get flying wires for the empanage. The manual we have (if you can call it one) says to install them but gives...

Scrappy’s Landing Gear Wings - Yay or Nay?

To me, Mike's enthusiasm is infectious as well as entertaining. When I find myself loosing focus and desire to continue working on my project, I pull up the latest video for inspiration. If enthusiasm and excitement for working on things you love and are passionate about turns someone off, so be...

Wanted Plans for Rocky Mountain Wings "Ridge Runner" UL/LSA Aircraft

VB, I feel like a dummy. Your correct. it makes no sense to me but, that is how it is designed. I went through all my parts bags and my check lists, and I actually have "Two" sets of flap pulleys with the same part number. My packing/parts list shows only two pulleys for spar mounting at the...

Wanted Plans for Rocky Mountain Wings "Ridge Runner" UL/LSA Aircraft

I have the flap pulleys to mount inside the wing (they mount on the rear spar) for actual actuation of the flap down movement. That is pretty straight forward. So, after reading your post reply I think I have it figured it out for the RR3, thanks to your observations. The original builder for...

Wanted Plans for Rocky Mountain Wings "Ridge Runner" UL/LSA Aircraft

Yea, I know that they use one cable per flap. My problem is the parts in the kit has two small 1 1/2 inch pulleys (one for each side to guide them down to the flap handle). So far so good. Now, just where the hell do they mount? There is not one mount/bracket for them anywhere. The manual give...

Wanted Plans for Rocky Mountain Wings "Ridge Runner" UL/LSA Aircraft

Can you take some photos of the flap cable install on this? I have the model 3 and the build manual is for dirt! That's a nice way of saying S@#$. It is a model 1 maunual with notes all over it to change wording and photos for updating. I have emailed and called untill I am blue in the face for...
