GA aircraft with Tail mounted propeller

The configuration I am describing is that of the seawind but smaller like the Eurocopter with an engine instead of the electric motor. There are many examples with electric motor: IFB-Stuttgart E-Genius - Wikipedia Sunseeker: SUNSEEKER DUO - Solar Flight Windex: Radab Windex - Wikipedia...

    Project Phoebe - one-seat "trainer"

John, this is a dormant thread but I saw you mention this in the e-soaring thread and wanted to suggest a different alternative: Let there be a large folding prop with electric motor in tractor configuration (like FES but with larger prop) and use a hubmotor in single wheel landing gear for the...

Pipistrel is selling the Alpha Electric's electric propulsion system for around 27,000 Euro (~$29,000)

Very good questions and I think Gabe does a pretty good job in explaining the zero system in the podcast here: http://www.sonexflight.com/71/sonexflight_e71_apr2020.mp3 This should answer your questions.

The most reliable, inexpensive, simplest plug and play system is from zero. I still do not understand why all these aviation manufacturers need to work on their own system when an equivalent plug and play system exists, especially for LSA kind of aircrafts. Zero now covers a full range of motors...

I am building a tractor, side by side, engine behind pilot gyroplane.

Billski, how does things change if you have an electric brushless motor instead of the ICE? I understand something needs to be done with a zillion pounds of battery for an electric plane and sorry for the thread drift but the same reasoning for a very good visibility in this design holds for...

The zero motorcycle FWF that you can buy from Mark @ thundergull aviation is ~ $8k for 7.2kWhr battery and ~ 45hp motor+BMS, charger, harness etc for ~ 125-135lbs. Every additional 3.6kWhr battery pack is $2k and 42lbs.
