    Wouldn't it be much more efficient to grind through a flock of birds with a two-blade propeller, opposite to a multi-stage compressor in a jet engine? Blade failure caused by propellers hitting soft objects sounds quite unplausible.

    People have taken off from Mt.Everest with a tandem paraglider. If the 2 knot per 1000ft IAS to TAS conversion would apply to this type of aircraft, they must be running at around 68 knots at the time of launch. Something just didn't add up.

    Amphibious drones. Delivery UAV with potential precise striking ability. All of those drones seem to be using the same ground station system. It make a lot of economical sense to use the same flight control system on older airframe rather than those newer drones.
