    Pushers...way to go ?

That was way back in 2012 so already has.... barely! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wired.com/2013/10/yates-world-records/amp

So many reasons to use a P.S.R.U.

    Now thats funny right there...😀

    Propeller pitch

Yep, I'm aware of that. Not sure what that had to do with my post but thanks for that.

    Propeller pitch

That makes more sense because in your opening post you said 25.85°, which is 77.58". Thanks for clearing that up.

    Propeller pitch

Thanks, I was wondering which one, 74" or 25.85°, was the actual reference because when I plug those numbers in I come up with 77.58" for the pitch. But I'm usually the dumbest person in the room....

    Propeller pitch

How did you come up with 74" pitch for your prop? Thx

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

My apologies if I did... I took what Fred C was pointing out as 400 hp from a small high strung package is a bad idea. This is what I was trying to confirm. The R-2800 would have to put out 7800 HP to match the eco boost! Don't think that would have been a good idea with as many jugs as those...

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

Those have a HP/cubic inch ratio approaching 1:1 and had their problems with longevity, etc. An eco boost at 400 HP is 2.85:1 so not for me thanks.

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

No it's not but I have never seen an LS long block lighter than 400 plus pounds. I wonder if he did anything special or if we can actually achieve this? That would be huge.

Roger Mann is building a new, affordable Ragwing ultralight.

We did that to our mini Max after it got flipped and nobody had time to fix it. 🔥

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

If he can get it in it that way with the psru then that's great. It adds a lot to the cost but will add significant horsepower. But without the psru we should be able to get sub 400. Obviously it matters what type of plane it actually goes into. Now someone just needs to do it.....

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

Yeah, what makes or breaks those installations is how well the installer can get everything around it figured out. According to the video he obviously worked on it for a while but as a 10-year, 1000 hour setup he must have figured something out.

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

Yes, that's no induction system, but that's the same for the LS as well. I never said it would put out more horsepower than an LS! I was only trying to meet requirements of the OP at the best weight possible. It could potentially be cheaper but we all know how that goes.🙄 I don't know why...

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

Horsepower isn't everything. Some people need less horsepower and a lighter weight. I saw where a guy weighed a 302 on one of the drift forums and the long block was 350 lb. There's no way a stockish LS will make that. However, if you've got the money, you can send your LS block and cam to...

Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

He clearly says O-235 several times and it is a billet crank. At 0:23 it looks like the prop is mounted out from the block so maybe a custom crank or he made an extension for it. Either way I would think he made a "fifth bearing" for it. FWIW, some airboat guys run V8s as DD. Not ideal for an...
