    10/23 Raptor Video

I did answered on this question above and remember aviation engines with constant speed props holding much more volume of oil then automotive engines.

Raptor Audi engine has standard "low oil level" censor and light (and that what Peter use). But Peter himself said that on that flight the oil level was BELOW "normal" level on preflight(engine has "deep stick"?), but he still decided to fly without adding some oil! In aviation no need for "low...

    10/23 Raptor Video

In real live we don't check oil level in our cars every day(some times even for few month) - that's why automotive engines have "low oil" censors. In aviation we check oil level before EVERY flight and always add oil level to "full".

Ross is right - this was "low oil level" warning light. That happened few times before. This time Peter set prop to "flat pitch", oil level went up and light came off. On automotive engines difference from "full" and "low" oil level usually about quart of oil or so. And some one said that on...

On this video PM said that he had to replace cracked pulley and belts on reduction unit. Major oil leak, piston connecting rod brake, turbine malfunction and now cracked pulley - isn't to much for just few dozen hours running the power plant?

Free wind wheeling prop producing more aerodynamic drag then prop is not turning at all!

Who know how this system will work in this aircraft with pusher prop in the back?

I understand this and understand that may be some resonance vibrations on certain RPM's. On our aircraft we have increase idle RPM's to 1600 and we're have to avoid ruining engine on 3400-3600 RPM's because of that. But i think Raptor didn't have that sound and such vibrations with old engine.

I did hear that "knocking" sound when engine at idle and notice vibrations on this video - this did't happened on video before engine replacement. Problem with the engine?

PM is IT person and most of them know "little about of everything, but nothing in deep knowledge" ;)

I don't know if he need to start new 40 hrs count with this engine swap, but isn't FAA required 60 hrs flying off if engine is not certified?

You're probably right - no real people there(California) to invest for production of Raptor! I think this is Peter new PR trick, same is a 1500 deposits 🤔

Peter many times said that weight problem will be solved when production of this KIT aircraft will begin in California🤔

I noticed the wing tip vibration and also the engine sound different at low RPM then old one.

    Electric Ducted Fan

Yes, I think this about our airplane. Nothing wrong of using auto engines on airplanes, particularly GM LS engines - they are very strong and design for sport cars. This engines also used in the race cars. We're also looking to use electric ducted fan in our PJ-II "Dreamer" too!
