What do you think about "e-soaring"?

OK......best configuration for proximity-soaring eGlider is conventional/conservative "Plain vanilla" with fuse and tail, and with L/D >30....... and eMotor/eSustainer means no "propeller-anxiety" and no "ICE-anxiety"....... winch-launch and self-launch capable...... What's cheapest eGlider...

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Facet Opal was super-simple/small/light, with a 30 kW Rotax 447......Ir weighed 240 lbs empty(no fuel), and 660 lbs MTOW........cruise 250km/hr and absolute range with 62 gallons of fuel was quoted as approx 3500 miles...... had retracts. It looked absolutely fantastic. in flight..... maybe...

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Agree with Post 1639 and 1640......great vids..... elevates flying into an Art Form.......become an "eGliding" artist. Could be every pilot's goal. Really liked the "Cloudstreet" trailer..... NZ proximity beach-gliding looks awesome..... Stefan Langer is an artist!

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Proximity-eGliding around the mountains of beautiful Lake Como in Northern Italy….. (Note: the gliderport is actually on the shore of Lake Varese) Looks the ultimate life-style!

Impressive flying on about 0.5kW !

I am building a tractor, side by side, engine behind pilot gyroplane.

Now this looks simple......but needs a BMW R1200 motor with straight Spur-gears PSRU.......couldn't get any simpler.....

    Re-drives Belt or Chain ?

EPI says Rotorway Exec chain should get replaced more frequently than every hundred hours...... Maybe BMW 1200cc Motorcycle engine with straight spur-gears PSRU is bullet-proof.....and would be good on the small tractor-gyro shown below...

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

technically impressive, but me-thinks "journeying" around the sky in this Rolls Royce Accel would get pretty boring pretty fast...... I don't think I could stand it! ( Now, if the Pond Racer could be fitted with a couple of junked electric Zero motors and some lengthened soaring...

    Re-drives Belt or Chain ?

If I remember correctly Ed Schram's Rotorway Exec helicopter had multiple V-belts and then a final duplex chain-drive reduction.....? Maybe it still does.....

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

330 mile range, but how long to re-charge at an interim "fuel-stop"? Looks super-nice......

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

    Motor Goats.....interesting electric innovations.... http://m-sandlin.info/Motorgoats/Motorgoats.html

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

    Cheapest flying-fun......tow-launch eGoat or similar.....

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

MSFS now has an electric-sailplane......interesting comment about it: The AS 33 ME is the first electric plane available in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Created by MADoloSimulations it is in fact a competition glider that incorporates the self launching electric motor currently used on the AS...

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Tesla now quoting for new Plaid deliveries for Feb '22. Why??? People want instant wow-factor, and they're queuing up to buy it.....and price doesn't matter. To drive demand for eSoaring, gotta' somehow introduce similar instant "wow-factor" into eSoaring ..... Anyone got any ideas?

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Sunseeker Duo is brilliantly engineered......thanks for the Link.....haven't seen the Duo before. Super impressive.! Perhaps some mega "Wow-factor" could be introduced by having a Tesla tow-launch, where Suseeker Duo climbs at say 40 degrees after a 20' ground-roll, and GoPro cockpit camera...
