James, build the plane you want, i just flew my Affordaplane for the first time last night, it does not meet the UL 103 spec, and was extremely stable, surprised me a lot. i built my version with the same attitude, prove them wrong, its done now, and i feel great about it. only a few squawks to sort out, but nothing in the flight controls or stability of the plane. it will come in heavy that air frame is rated at over 8G's when i did the stress analysis, on it, so its a tank. my finished weight came in at 403 pounds, but i had major mods on my plane. I'm an Arkansas born and bred A&P, IA, private pilot and teach at an A&P school as well as run my own maintenance facility.

I'm an "everything aviation" enthusiast. I like the fast, the slow and everything in between. I'm partial to any kind of warbird
