    Two-seat WWII warbird replica candidates?

How about the PZL-23? It was a 3 man ship, but you could do without the bombadier...

    Pushers...way to go ?

So he built his own Flexidyne coupling! I've often wondered how difficult that would be. I agree with the idea of the IMP being a good candidate for electrification. In looking into the history of the design, I never cold figure out why Molt shelved the plans for the 2 seat version. It seems...

    B21 Reveal

Not to the pilots! Seems like the Ukrainians have been having decent results with drone strikes.

    Pushers...way to go ?

Yeah, so cool I bought plans! It's a very intimidating build, but the builder community is pretty active, judging by the emails I get from groups.io. One guy is taking it upon himself to get from Molt's hand drawn stuff to CAD files with dimensions. I'm trying to persuade him to share the files...

    Pushers...way to go ?

Well, not sport plane stats for sure. I wonder how different Nomad's design was, beyond being a 2 seater? I'm a little surprised at the static rpm number, since I believe there's a Flexidyne coupling in between the engine and prop shaft. The Flexidyne takes a fair amount of rpm to "lock up" and...

    Pushers...way to go ?

Thank you SO much for this post! I never heard of this design before. Now I can research the patent on the drive system and see how he overcame the vibration issues.

    Pushers...way to go ?

Well, now it's just speculation that the pilot can't get the nose high enough. I'd say that Lesher and Taylor and the folks at Douglas and Lockheed were good enough designers that their aircraft wouldn't have such a glaring deficiency. With all the expertise on this site, surely someone can...

    Pushers...way to go ?

Looks to me like the prop is protected from a ground strike by the ventral fin. How much rotation is needed for the typical modern runway? Teal also used very small tires, since it was built to set speed records. Bigger tires would change the rotation angle favorably and give more prop to ground...

    Pushers...way to go ?

I don't think the take off pitch issue is much of a problem. Molt Taylor and Ed Lesher both had successful pusher designs with long tail booms. Douglas aircraft and Lockheed both had post war pusher designs that were just too expensive to be marketable, without any technical issues preventing...

    Suitable airframes for industrial engines?

When I spoke to Matt, he said the motor mount holes for the 1/2 VW weren't the same for the V-twin. Or the cowling for the exposed heads. So, not a direct drop in to the motor box, but easy enough if you plan on the V-twin from the start.

Lots of catalogs still out there. I pick up a half a dozen every Airventure! They aren't like the old Montgomery Wards, or Sears, but they all have more stuff than I can afford...

    Suitable airframes for industrial engines?

Hummel has developed a V-twin for the Ultra Cruiser. There are videos on You tube. When I spoke to Matt at Airventure about it, he was adamant that it would do fine for a guy my size, and displayed a pic of him flying one at a weight comparable to mine. 1/2 VW is the typical engine for them...
