The CFM Shadow - thoughts, opinions?

Ah, I get you. Well I think for 2 seaters the choice is pretty wide, with most your side of the pond! I'm sure there are others better qualified to comment. Value wise, when the Shadow was available, a kit was more expensive than a Kitfox at that time, so you need to look at today's prices to...

I don't know where you got that info from! I saw the load tests and no supports were needed. The struts were only added for ground handling loads.

The CFM Shadow - thoughts, opinions?

I've owned 3, built one of them and flew over 1000hrs in them..... fantastic for it's day and only one fatality since they were put into production and that was probably down to a stroke or heart attack. Mot fast in a straight line but effectively un-spinnable. Don't even think of comparing it...

The Lightest Starter for Rotax 2-Strokes

That's fine, keep your hair on  I know my product, and plenty of peeps have been happy to pay the price for a product that's lasted for 20 years plus without need of repair (I just did repair a 24 year old unit for a guy in Spain!) Of course you could make your own with time, effort and...

The Lightest Starter for Rotax 2-Strokes

Well, I can tell you that the M5 can't be made much cheaper! I have to make a profit, otherwise there would be no point in producing them. I'd like to see you make one as you describe; believe me others have tried. If I could make it for $100 I would, believe me. The main pulley is manufactured...

The Lightest Electric Starter for Rotax 2 strokes - M5 Aviation Products

These small paramotor based cranks do seem to have a short life span here in the UK (so I'm told!)

It wouldn't be too difficult to design one but I need to get hold of an engine!

Not the M5 sadly! Maybe we should look at the Polini as a possible new customer; there are plenty of them about...

The Lightest Electric Starter for Rotax 2 strokes - M5 Aviation Products

Hi, total weight is 6lbs 12oz. Not sure what the ring gear weighs (but I have one somewhere!). This is lighter than the Rotax starter. Whether it's an upgrade is a bit subjective I guess but it does mean effortless starting with an excess of revs to provide max voltage from the magneto for CDI...

The Lightest Starter for Rotax 2-Strokes

Hi Woody, it simply replaces the recoil start unit, it's no deeper, and the motor lies alongside the crankcase. No different mount required. See these pics. You can choose where you orient the motor, simply download the full size backplate template, offer it up to suit your application and mark...
