    Pre-emptively helicoil aluminum bolt holes?

I designed a bunch of film equipment a while back and to save weight for a steadycam application I had to use Magnesium. Magnesium is great to cut weight but so many drawbacks. Special coatings to avoid water corrosion which I knew about but I learned the hard way that when tapped with small...

I am not building an aircraft. I was searching for information about the Pegasus Motor Corp. 57 HP would be light for my 7AC

That would be me... But with just being out of the country 2 months and holidays approaching not much will happen until the new year. I have lots to sort out before I formulate a plan to move forward.

I am 6’4” 235lbs and had same question. I found a local pilot with a CH750 and we flew for an hour and I can tell you I fit just fine.

Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 23hp build

How much do the air powered generators like used in cubs weigh? Could a smaller version be made from a 60mm to 80mm electric RC ducted fan?

Discusion Thread: Raceair Skylite Build and sub-kit developments

Another Update: 10/30/22 Hello All, I finished most of the tailgroup and added the wooden rudder fin. I still have not added all the gussets to the rear portion of the elevator since I ended up diverting from the plans a bit since the planform on the plans did not work in real life. I can...

Discusion Thread: Raceair Skylite Build and sub-kit developments

GeeZee I have run into a few discrepancies on the plans with the Elevator. Before you start the elevator contact me and if I have the changes finalized I will send you an updated drawing. Nothing big but may as well save you the head scratching after youve cut a few items to length that wont fit.

Leonard Millholland is about ready to release Briggs conversion plans

I was thinking the same when I saw him using direct drive. Being able to use a direct drive on the Skylite would simplify things not having to deal with Ace and their long leadtimes. Curious if it was a vertical engine like used on the luciolle. Id like to know more.i imagine it was the large...

Discusion Thread: Raceair Skylite Build and sub-kit developments

Another update. Progress has been slow while on vacation and to top it off my computer is having all sorts of crashing issues since its time for a new one. Anyhow I have been able to get a bit done. I have the front portion of the Horizontal Stab completely done and the rear Elevator portion...

Leonard Millholland is about ready to release Briggs conversion plans

If I did not already have a briggs 627 to convert Id likely buy a hummel. Cost wise its likely gonna be very close in making the mods myself buying aftermarket parts. Something to considered to those wanting an engine and unsure on if buying or building.

Looking for a 1/2 vw engine project

I may have one. My dad bought a J4 Kitten (parasol version) project and then I found him a 1/2 VW that was built from Cassler plans but not entirely finished. My dad is realizing he will never finish the project and I may be able to convince him to sell the engine separately. I am in the Los...

Leonard Millholland is about ready to release Briggs conversion plans

I wonder if his aluminum flywheel mid will still have the magnets for power generation. All the karting aluminum flywheels omit the magnets since not needed. The guide im following uses a rev kit with new springs and pushrods as well as a different cam. Single mikuni carb and start there. If you...

Leonard Millholland is about ready to release Briggs conversion plans

I bought a Briggs 627 and ACE redrive recently but left for vacation before I could start the conversion. Im curious to see what hop up parts he is going to use. I have an excell sheet of the items I will buy as soon as I get home. Ace seems to be the standard in redrives for these engines but...

    Airplane plans inventory

If anyone has a set of Zippy Sport plans Id love to buy them. Already reached out to one person on here who listed them. Or if not buy trade a set of both Skylite and Lill Bitts including build manuals. Or borrow them to look at and I would honestly return them. I reached out to Ed but he never...
