    I would be very interested in receiving copies of the (Wilford?) EAA spreadsheets that are mentioned in a recent thread. Please send to I think they had a Roncz spreadsheet or too at their site awhile ago. Is that what you are finding out? I am interested in them too. I let my EAA membership lapse mostly because the magazines don't have much of the practical and useable design info. that interests me so there are things at their site that I can't access. Not too wild about that either, by the way.

    Hi, I had a question regarding your post

    "I would get out TOWS, look up the v/V charts for the foil, interpolate to get the v/V for the C and D points for the envelope of this airplane (max g at stall AOA and max g at Vne). Then do the membrane analysis of the nose skin at the loadings the v/V indicates to see if glass at the thickness you are thinking about will stay on the airplane. Maybe the aluminum is the right stuff, maybe the glass is. You won't know without doing the analysis."

    Could you please point me in the direction of where I can find out how to do this membrane analysis? I've already searched the web and forum.

    BTW, I have the specs for Scotchply, just not the method to design using it.
    I'm also having a bear of a time finding any. I've found sheets of similar material, but the strength and flex properties aren't anywhere near what Scotchply (Cyply) claims. I've only tried two distributors, but have gotten no where when I say that don't yet need production quantities of material - i need to TRY it first.
    Ideally, I'd like to find some 3-4" bar stock of the appropriate thickness. Ultimately, we'll probably end up making our own gear anyway, but I was hoping to save time and money in the beginning (it's easier to change a waterjet cut file than make a new mold).

    Read you posts about Canopy latches and was impressed by the level of details that your going to! What are you designing / building? Be interested to hear details of your canopy hinge / latch mechanism and the general concept! Good building! Matthew
