Interstate L6

A real unusual airplane. The owner brought it to me in surprisingly good condition. It was complete. It was a 1943 power was a 110HP Franklin with a planetary reduction drive. A good wood prop real big and turns slow. I do not know what the ratio is. I had the original maintenance and pilot military manuals. The total time airframe and engine was 12 hours. It had been civilized in 1946 and had a good airworthiness certificate. I complied with all of the ADs.
It was nice to fly roomy with comfortable seats. Was an overall fun project.
I took my son with me to deliver it to Rockford Ill.
In flight I could see the prop it turned so slow. It indicated 80MPH at cruse. The airspeed indicated 25MPH when it stalled. It took off short and climbed steep.
