There are many reasons to participate in this forum, but it seems to me that they can be categorized into four broad areas: designing, building, flying, and hanging out with airplane people.

For the purposes of this thread, designing includes finding or developing new materials or equipment, as well as the traditional scope of aero and structural manipulations. For example, searching for alternative engines, designing DIY instrumentation, finding new or alternative materials would be classified as designing.

Building includes everything related to the methods, tools and techniques of fabricating parts and or assembling parts and materials into an airplane. Maintenance could be another category, but for the sake of this thread, it is considered subset of building.

Flying refers everything involved with operating an airplane.

Hanging out with airplane people encompasses the social aspects of communicating with others who share your interest in everything related to homebuilt airplanes

Given the above criteria, please share your primary interest area(s) here at HBA.com. To those of you lurking, as I did for several years, please consider signing up, telling us about yourself, and joining the conversation.
