I'm starting my Cri-Cri project within the next few days, but I'm also considering building a family-friendly 4-seat aircraft, most likely either metal or composite, concurrently with my main project at some point along the way as time and money permit. As fun as the Cri-Cri is bound to be, not being able to take my family on cross-country runs from CT to FL to visit my older kids and grandkids is a net minus. Ideally, the 4-place would be well-designed, with easy to understand plans and construction manual, and hopefully decent support from the designer and/or other builders. Being safe, somewhat easy to fly, not too slow, and relatively inexpensive would be nice, and if it was something that could at least be partially built in, and extricated from, my condo's large basement while we still live there, it would be absolutely perfect (I don't want much, do I?)! None of these are deal-breakers in and of themselves, as even the space requirement will be addressed within the next couple of years when we move into a house. The first plane of this type that I fell in love with was the Cozy MK IV, but then the eventual price, and the fact that there are so many alternatives to choose from, made me lose my zeal for it somewhat. So, I'm wondering if there are any out there that are real standouts that come to anyone's mind? Thank you very much!
