Hi all!

I came up with the idea about moving (or controllable) vortex generators. I didnt find the same thing on the web, so does anyone have some info on the existence of such a thing?

The idea would be to install VG's that could be rotated by command, so that they are aligned while in flight (cruising) producing low drag increase in respect to clean wing, and they would be deflected for 15 deg for high lift landing configuration.

The drawback of standard-fixed VG's is that they produce additional drag constantly, though they increase lift in landing (which is their main purpose)

So what do you think about movable VG's? Complexity? Benefits? Drawbacks? Thinking of application to: footlaunchable.

here is a simple sketch: 1) in flight aligned position (streamlined) ; 2) landing configuration
