I am building a Sonerai 2 airplane and am going to use a rotax 912 uls engine. It has been recommended to me that I should increase the fin and rudder area by about 22%. I am building the rounded tail version. The plans show no balance tab on the rudder. I would like the tail to look like a spitfire tail and the spitfire had a balanced rudder tab on top. What are the pros and cons of the balance tab. I notice some airplanes have them and some don"t. A pitts doesn't . A Sonerai cruises about 150 mph but could see 200 in a dive. I was thinking of taking a supercub rudder and scaling it down and adjusting it a bit to get it looking like I want. Should I be worried about flutter or other issues ?
