MJ-2

This is a nice looking all wood design. I like the one piece wing.

A Jurca Tempete. I saw one at Oshkosh many years ago.

Re: MJ-2

A friend built one years ago. He still has it.

His is powered with a 65 Cont. All wood construction. It looks a bit strange with a short wing with a wide chord. He said it is a delight to fly and is aerobatic!

That's great Wally!

I may consider this one for my next project. I like wood.
I would like to know what canopy is used for it.

Re: MJ-2

My friend is a traditional guy and he is likes open cockpits. I am thinking that the plans will only show a windshield. Over the years I think I remember seeing 3 or more versions on his. His latest one is very cool, it wraps around the sides of the cockpit quite a ways. He says that there is very little wind when flying.

The Tempete was his first homebuilt he finished about 1974. Then he built a 5151 Mustang, Rans S-7, and a Murphy Biplane. And he tried various engines on those planes. The Tempete still has the original cont. on it. The 5151 is sold but he says a good day for him is when he flys all three planes.

As an experimental, you can of course put on whatever you want. I have never talked to this guy but you could contact Todd's Canopies and see if he knows what would work. Todds Canopies - Home
