The airplane i'm looking to build originally called for Douglas Fir but was given the option to use Spruce due to "the unavailability of straight-grain Douglas Fir". That was almost 20 years ago. Doing some quick internet searches it seems douglas fir is quite available now. Is this true or is it still hard to find aircraft grade Douglas Fir?
