I have just acquired a very old Osprey II project, probably 60% complete on the woodworking side. The owner/builder passed and the project has sat for some period, I would guess at least 15 yrs. The majority of the glueup appears to be Hughes White glue - popular before epoxy took over. This is what the original designer specified. With just light handling, several of the joints have broken apart. I can fix these fairly easily however it begs questions about all the other joints? Its impossible to do any NDT other than check for looseness, etc.
I'm looking for some help/comments here possibly from others who have dealt w/ older glueup failures?
I am open to the cold hard facts that the project may have to be abandoned.
Thanks
