I have a broken ultralight sailplane, a Superfloater, with a broken boom tube. The 4" aluminum tube is compressed at the tail to rivet to a 1 1/8" vertical stabilizer. I was told that perhaps some WW1 replicas use a similar type of connection between the spar and tip. As I am unversed in this dark art of tube compression, any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Billy
