Dana, do you fill your tube with sand to keep it from kinking?

No, for that big a bend (27" radius; the outer ring for the propeller cage) it's not necessary.

Shane,

Question on bending a 2"X.95 4130 tube. Need a 90 deg bend in tube for my landing gear with a radius of 99mm.

What would you recommend for a process? Plans state "heat and bend".

4" CLR is pretty tight for an "empty bend"

This is a mandrel bender application. Not sure how the heating would work. Sorry.

You might be better off purchasing pre bent mandrel bends.

I have some customers with mandrel benders that might be able to help you if you like.

Shane,

If you have anyone in the Northeast, that would be nice. Would appreciate any assistance. I have a funny feeling this may be beyond what I want to attempt.
