replacing steel tube with aluminum tube

hi is there any thumb rule for replacing steel tubing (such us 1/8 larger diameter or thicker wall ) with aluminum tubing and have the same strength,i would like to change few thinks on existing desing ,the tubes are mostly 1/2 x 0.035 steel 4130 ,which I would like to replace thank you
