I wish to use titanium or even carbon instead of steel for all my Pitts push rods.Original is 4130N 5/8" x .035".It seems that titanium is more flexible than 4130N steel,so i could use 3/4" x 035".Carbon is very stiff. The big deal,is how to fix the parts where the bearings are bold at each ends of the tubes;welding or rivets for titanium tubes, glu or rivets for carbon tubes;if rivets what kind. And is there any corosion between bearing and titanium.
