I am kicking around design concepts for a low-wing, two-seat microlight/LSA using simple, bolted/riveted aluminum tube construction much like the Best Off Skyranger.

One problem, of course, is that such construction suits a braced high-wing design very naturally, but less so a low-wing design unless you go with braced low-wings like a CallAir, which is one possibility.

Ideally, I'd prefer a cantilever low wing, but large, cantilever tubular spars are inefficient. So I am looking for other design schemes for light, efficient, cantilever low wings using aluminum tubes as the primary components.

Any ideas or examples come to mind?

Cheers,

Matthew
