They asked me to introduce myself. I am a lifetime aviation aficionado. I used to teach high school and middle school, but in my late 20's, I told my wife I didn't want to wait until I was too old to get into aviation. She agreed to let me go back to school. A few years, my savings accounts, and other things later, I had the aviation credentials to work on and operate planes. I guess I wasn't really planning it. but I ended up going back to school again, but this time as the teacher. I've been an Aviation prof at SIU for the last 11 years.

I have put quite a few certified airplanes back in the air (150's, 172's, a 175, and an AMD Alarus.) I redid a CH250 (the predecessor to the Alarus). I've worked on a lot. I currently have 5 project aircraft, either getting worked on or waiting for work. These include a C-150 (just upgraded avionics to G-430W), a RV-4 project, a hornet project that belongs to a student group I sponsor, an RV-6A project that belongs to my son, and am getting ready to go get another RV-6 project that I picked up from Wentworth. Hopefully, the RV6 IO am going to pick up will be my first forever aircraft - as I have always been too poor to keep a plane once I have fixed it up.

So that's me.

Don
